CHAIN MAIL

In the wake of the terrorist attacks on the United States some people with too much time and not enough sense are playing practical jokes.   Rumors of future plots are circulating on the internet.   Bomb threats are being called in, fake Anthrax letters are being mailed.   This is NOT harmless fun.   The jokes and silly pictures are good for us, the so-called "serious" warnings are not.

Anyone who starts one of these rumors or fakes a threat is actively aiding the terrorists in their number one goal:   to spread fear and uncertainty among the American people.   The people and agencies responsible for detecting and stopping terrorist threats are already thinly spread and facing a huge task.   These stupid "jokes" only draw resources away from the job at hand.

Please, if you receive a so-called "serious" terrorist warning via the internet do NOT forward it.   Real, credible threats will be covered by the media.   If you know of someone making threats or sending fake Anthrax letters, turn their ass in!   They're doing the terrorist's work.

If there's not much the average citizen can do to fight terrorists the least we can do is not help them out.
